A Quiet Guide to Visualization

No incense required. A practical way to picture the life you’re writing about, in under a minute.

Visualization sounds mystical, but it’s simply the act of imagining something in detail. You already do it when you plan a trip or rehearse a conversation.

One detail at a time

After your evening 9, close your eyes and pick one detail from your sentence. The sound of the river. The weight of the keys. The first message from a client you love working with. Stay with that detail for three slow breaths.

Small and specific beats grand and vague.

Visualization works best as a companion to action, not a substitute for it. Let the picture remind you what you’re working towards, then go and do the next small thing.
